Monthly Journal: January 2018
January 31, 2018First monthly journal of 2018! It seems there were more notes than stickers this month but thankfully I jotted down notes and appointments with Stabilo pens so at least that contributed to the colourful mess on both pages. I noticed I have a lot of cat stickers on these two pages and my favourite has got to be the pop-up pink unicorn sticker which you can find at the 4th of January box which was a souvenir from my sister while she was travelling.
The most memorable part of January was the extraction of my wisdom tooth. I was pretty convinced that due to my previous braces period, I would have no problem with my wisdom tooth growth. I heard numerous not-so-wise dental stories about the gruesome wisdom tooth extraction and sad diets after the operation which to be quite frank, really scared me. Surprisingly, the extraction was a pleasant experience.

For the first day of 2018, I listed down my resolutions of the year so that I could have a yearly goal of sticking to my resolutions. I never believed in resolutions and all for the new year but I think age has gotten the best out of me which is why I'm all about being a better and improved person every year (can't believe I just said that).
I listed 6 resolution and an extra 7th (for fun) and I will review all these at the end of 2018 to see if I did grow as an individual. I have a bad feeling that I won't stick to any of it HAHAHA. Anyway, read about my 2018 resolutions HERE.

Like almost everyone else, I was destined to go through this ordeal of removing my wisdom tooth and I was in denial for almost a month. As I can take pain quite well, I didn't let the irritating feeling get in the way of my daily routine until half of my face started swelling up. That was when I knew I had to get it out. I mustered up the courage (I avoid dental clinics as much as I can) and went for a check-up first and set a date for the operation.

Dr. Poon was amazing. The wisdom tooth extraction was done within 15-20 minutes and it was actually not too bad. The only part I didn't like was the injecting of the anesthetic which was really ticklish and tasted bad, not to mention the after effects. Dr. Poon explained every move that he was going to do and the reason why he was going to do it so that you will know what he is doing in your mouth since you can't see what's going on. I was also told that I had a mini growth inside due to infection and was causing all the sore throat I had for the past few months. Because I extracted the wisdom tooth, the dentist was able to scrape out that piece of growth as well, YAY!!
Dr. Poon was recommended by my brother who extracted his wisdom tooth there too and I think he really is one of the best dental surgeons out there. Another important thing is that my wound healed very quickly and nicely after the operation and in no time I was back to my normal diet!

We had a plan to get Mimi drunk for her farewell at Arena Bar but I got drunk instead. It was a super fun night with a lot of laughter with the rest of the girls and guys. Gonna miss you Mimi! Check out the drunk photos of the night:

Abang came back for good from Penang and brought me out to Mitasu for my post-birthday lunch. We both heard a lot of good reviews about this place from our friends who frequented this Japanese buffet spot in KL. I would say that it wasn't too bad but I'm definitely not going back there because we both had a funny stomach that very night and the outcome wasn't very funny at all.
That's all for January. It was a month where I turned 25 on the 25th, a coincidence that never crossed my mind at all last year because if it did, I would have planned to celebrate it at Paris or Tbilisi or Morocco or anywhere since it's a once in a lifetime thing. But spending my birthday with my family and loved ones isn't too bad either, travel can come later. Till then, hello February!
