R!UH In The City has been going on for a few rounds in Kuala Lumpur for the past few months and it had been so frequent that I attended the first one at APW Bangsar and that was it, I didn't attend a second time because I thought it would be the same ol' thing like the first time. So when they decided to have it at the 110-year-old Sentul Depot, I was sure that I will be attending my second R!UH In The City because the venue itself was historical and I looooove anything history, so I had to go for this one.

I started off with a bowl of curry mee at Jalan Ipoh to fill up the tummy because we all know the food and beverages at events as such are on the higher side. We were merely going for the venue and also because Nachos-LAH had a new flavour for that week.

After getting my box of nachos, I found a spot in front of the stage where Bassment Syndicate was to start playing. I love their style and music, more so because my favourite singer, NJWA came on stage to serenade us. I had a great time during their performances and they surely had me as a new fan!

When I thought it was time to leave the event, I came across a tour guide from YTL explaining to a group of all ages about the history of this depot. I'm a sucker for history and followed the group through out the entire tour. So basically YTL Corporation bought over Sentul Depot and its surrounding land. They will not be demolishing this structure but also has no plans yet on how to utilize the place. The area will be closed and won't be available for outsiders anymore so the few days of this event were the last days for everyone to come and take a look at the depot which was once the best engineering workshop in the world. There were many visitors of the older generation and most of them came to reconnect with the place as some of them might have worked here before or even maybe had family members who worked here and would like to see the place one last time before it closes down.

I had a great time at this R!UH In The City not only because there were performances by Bassment Syndicate and NJWA but also because I got to learn about a piece of history in Kuala Lumpur that many of us did not know about. The tour guide from YTL did a great job in explaining and answering all our questions. It was also meaningful that we got to celebrate with good food and good music at the depot before it is no longer open to all of us.

Looking back, I felt really lucky that I attended this time around at Sentul Depot. It's such a beautiful and enchanting place and I really hope YTL can do something with it in the near future so that all of us can go back and have a great time there again!

P/S: I love how YTL decided to keep some of the trees that grew inside of the depot due to the history and also beauty that it brings to the depot.
