The month of May came and go quietly, as though preparing me for the next hectic months to come. My Japanese neighbours also came and go quietly after many years of living right opposite of my unit. The tenant raised their rental which made them move to somewhere much more affordable and before they left, they gave us a box of Bunmeido (文明堂) snack. Man, I will be missing all of the yummy Japanese snacks they shared with us whenever they came back from Japan. I bet my Mum misses them too. She'll miss giving them oranges and cookies every Chinese New Year and see how excited they are to try them.

Anyway, I ordered some stationery on Taobao and it came with a torn page, which I believe, was of a Buddhist book. Knowing that the act of tearing a page from a Buddhist book leads to additional karma, I didn't know what I could do to this piece of paper. Thankfully, there was this meaningful quote part that I could not read yet looks like it made a lot of sense. I cut it out and pasted it on the journal. I'm not really sure of the actual meaning but I think it meant that we should be contented with what we have around us. I secretly think it's Buddha lowkey telling me to stop buying unnecessary things on Taobao. What do you think?
