February 2019 Monthly Journal

February started with the Lunar New Year where I had a simple celebration with the family. Food was delicious as always and I think I gambled the most this year at both Abang's house and Zoel's place. I tried to keep the two pages of my monthly journal minimal but somehow I'm not very happy about this particular one. It's either I've yet to master the art of minimalism or I simply can't stand too much white spaces. 

Also, if you read my previous blog posts, you would have known that I would be flying to Jakarta at the end of this month and here I am, completing this blog post in my AirBnb. I've been to a few places in Jakarta in the past few days and I can't wait to share with you on my trip. Before that, check out my film photos for February:


4 February 

My mum and aunties are really good cooks hence the super good food during Chinese New Year. One night we ate homecooked dinner and the other night was steamboat, my favourite. My family side doesn't gamble so mostly its about the food and spending time together. Check out the yummy food and cute nephew and niece:

17 February

In mid February, I was reunited with the crazy bunch whom I travelled together to Yogyakarta in 2018 and Taiwan in 2016 for a CNY dinner. As always, these boys were mischievous and created a ruckus at the buffet dinner. It was also to celebrate JJ's birthday too which ended up in a cake fight. Overall, it was fun to meet them again and I can't wait to go on a trip with them again!

22 February

A few more days before I leave for Jakarta! Had Korean meal with colleagues for lunch at Myeongdong Topokki which I have to admit, is delicious but TOO spicy. I would come here again but maybe in the next half of the year. I don't think my tummy can take all of that burning sensation so frequently. That night itself, I went over to Bang Bang Geng to stock up on my film rolls for the Jakarta trip. I had a few more frames more on my Canon SXL Autoboy and there I go, a photo of the owner, Koon Yik.
